Virginia is located in what is called a transition zone for grass types. This means that in some areas we can grow both cool-season grasses and warm-season grasses. The basic types of turf grasses being grown in Virginia are Kentucky bluegrass blends, tall fescue or tall fescue-bluegrass mixtures, Bermudagrass, and Zoysiagrass.
